Just want to give a shameless shout out to my awesome father Mark Day. He has worked years on this book to proclaim His awesome Savior and Lord and to give that hope away to not only his family but to the world. I am so proud of him and his persistence. He has taught me well that God grows things, that is over time. Even though the world seems to rush around us and we feel the need to be rushed as well, my dad has exemplified that the Christian life and the things that are accomplished are a long step by step process. This is how God has revealed His faithfulness through my father. In a world that "wants it now" or "get rich quick" comes the message of my father from his heavenly Father: virtues like patience, endurance, persistence, character, delayed gratification, and the like. Dad thanks for your example even though I must admit we had trouble seeing this day come to pass. A published author. Deep down inside I knew it could be done, afterall, God grows things!

I thank God for my amazing wife Bonnie. She works so hard to make sure our home is taken care of food on the table, kids in order, and in altogether an excellent help mate. There is no way I could do what I do without her. She enables me to conquer more and empowers me not to be distracted but focused on leading our family as God has called. "I appreciate you so much honey"

We spent a week at the Wycliffe JAARS center in Waxhaw, NC. Our youth Group was challenged about Bible Translation and how over 2200 language groups around the world still need the scriptures in their heart language. We take for granted as English speakers how much we have been given. How often do we thank God for people like John Wycliffe who were responsible in bringing the scriptures to us and not having to just hear them from a church leader. We can study the Word for ourselves! Are you thankful? Are you studying? 2Ti 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 1Th 5:18 "in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

I think there is redeeming value in prioritizing time and making the most of what you have. I find it amazing that one of the greatest assets we have in this life is our time. I was reflecting on James 4:13-17 and realizing that we out to guard our hearts against the temptation to make plans and ask God to bless them. Rather, we ought to look to God's plan and bless His with our life by the power of the Holy Spirit. I noticed there are many instructions there, but these are a few that jumped out at me.
1. Your planning about your future must acknowledge God's Sovereignty
2. How you spend your time is extremely important
3. Your work is to not just fulfill your desires but His
4. Acknowledge that your days are numbered
5. Know God's will and do it!
6. Be humble.Arrogance and boastful living is like a body building ant vs. the human
7.Listen to conscience as the Holy Spirit uses this. Beware of comparing yourself to others, you are not them, you are not called to fulfill what they were put here to do. You may waste years of your life if you are not careful. Embrace the Lord and run as He has called YOU not someone else.

Thoughts
After struggling for many months about the desire to write and produce thoughts on page concerning all that I learn, I gave in to this weird phenomenon called blogging. Encouraged by others I have decided that this is a tool to not just take more of my time, but rather maximize it for the glory of God. As I seek to prioritize my life for God's purposes: Marriage, Family, and Ministry I pray and dedicate this Blog for that purpose and that purpose alone. If I find through time that this steals rather than invests I shall without fail, stop. To this end I now launch this Blog.
