Evans 5th Birthday

We did something brave last night. We had 7 boys over for a campout for Evan's 5th birthday. It was so much fun. Hot dogs, campfire, bear hunt, and fox and the hens. We all fell saleep by 10pm or so. A jet flew over about 6:30am and that was the end of sleepy time. THe back yard came alive with laughter and ideas for a new day. I thanked God for little boys and for a rising generation that has tremendous energy to be harnessed for the sake of the kingdom of God. May God give father's the passion and desire to lead their families well for the sake of the coming generation that God may be glorified!

"....And he went out, not knowing where he was going." Heb. 11:8

Have you ever heard the promises of God and sought to obey but have no idea what is ahead? Abraham did. Lately we find ourselves in the same position. The circumstances of our lives have left us humbled at the foot of the cross of Jesus and asking "what next Lord? Faith is believing that God is able to fulfill His Word in us even when we do not see a way out. God is Sovereign and doesn't waste anything. We know Romans 8:28 well "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." God uses all thing in the sense that He uses the ways of man for His glory whether they be good or evil. He uses good circumstances and bad circumstances to perfect His Will in the earth. He has the final say. I rejoice knowing that HE simply asks us to trust Him. As the children of Israel felt trapped at the Red Sea and a bitter enemy pursuing them, they waited. God delivered them, not for their sake but for His. When we humbly lay down our lives to the Master of all Creation and ask that He glorify Himself, watch out for He will do wonders, that all may know that He is great!
